Experiencing God’s Love in the Exchanged Life

We can experience God’s love and find true freedom as we reach the end of ourselves, embracing humility and being “poor in spirit.”

Listen + Watch the Message
(new sermons published every Monday)

Building on the premise that true success is loving others like God loves, we explore the “How” of Christ’s life: the Exchanged Life. While Jesus declared, “I am the Way,” He modeled a life free of self-reliance, doing only what He saw the Father doing. Human pride fails us, leading to exhaustion and sin cycles. True freedom is found when we reach the end of ourselves, embracing humility and being “poor in spirit.” By practicing Galatians 2:20 daily—recognizing we are crucified with Christ and He lives through us—we exchange our human inability, weakness, and insecurities for His supernatural strength, security, and righteousness. Whether facing daily frustrations, marital friction, business choices, or habitual sin, we must stop struggling in our own power. Instead, we abide in Christ, continually confessing sin and consciously trading our emptiness for His everything.

Discussion Questions

  • Reflect on an area in your life where you lived the Exchanged Life. Share how you experienced God’s love and true freedom in the exchange of your will for His Will.
  • According to 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, God’s power is perfected in our weakness. Why do you think we try so hard to hide our weaknesses from others—and from God—when they are actually the exact places where His power wants to dwell?
  • Pastor Jerry notes that marriage and close relationships act as a “mirror” that exposes our pride, selfishness, and stubbornness. How can practicing the Exchanged Life transform the way you handle conflict or unforgiveness and share God’s love with the people closest to you?
  • What does it mean to apply John 5:19 to your daily work? How do you actively listen to what the Father is doing before making your next decision or action?
  • What areas of your life do you need to surrender to the Father and live the Exchanged Life?
