Thursday Night gKids Coordinator

Job Purpose 

 The Thursday Night gKids Coordinator is responsible for helping fulfill the Lead Pastor’s vision in all aspects of the job.  The Thursday Night gKids Coordinator is responsible for assisting the gKids Director in creating a family environment to help foster the vision of the church to Fill the City with Jesus. The Thursday Night gKids Coordinator is also responsible for assisting in the preparation of curriculum, recruiting, disciplining, and assisting Thursday night volunteers; and overseeing the gKids area on Thursday evenings. 

Responsibilities

  • Engage in appropriate and professional communications among leaders, ministry partners, and families
  • Obtain, organize, and assist in the preparation of resources and materials 
  • Lead Thursday night huddles 
  • Participate in weekly volunteer recruitment and training 
  • Help ensure volunteers are discipled and valued (through special notes, treats, etc.)   
  • Set up gKids classrooms before service and teardown at the end of the night 
  • Assist Thursday Night gKids Volunteers in fulfilling their responsibilities through material, behavioral, or physical support
  • Welcome new families, field questions and offer support 
  • Troubleshoot technology as needed 
  • Expected to work up to 5 hours weekly, with most hours worked on Southern Pines campus on Thursdays

Required Character Attributes and Qualifications

Character

  • Born again and water-baptized
  • Have a life that reflects the teachings of Jesus (Matthew 5–7) and produces the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5)
  • Devoted to the basic disciplines of the faith: worship, prayer, and tithing
  • Attend worship services regularly
  • Lead/attend a small group or serve in a ministry regularly  

Qualifications

  • An appropriate educational background 
  • Experience as a ministry staff member and ministry leadership experience preferred
  • Detailed knowledge, agreement, and adherence to Grace Church mission, vision and core values
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self–motivated and organized with the ability to build and engage volunteers
  • Have a spirit of discernment and discretion
