The Bookkeeper is responsible for helping to fulfill the vision of the Lead Pastor in all aspects of the job.  The Bookkeeper handles all church financial accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. The Bookkeeper will meet deadlines for closing out each month. 

  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable in Sage Intacct
  • Pay expenditures weekly through online bill pay and generate checks
  • Post contributions to church management software
  • Manage weekly T&O count volunteers
  • Add new contributor’s information to church management software system 
  • Post and validate Ramp credit card transactions 
  • Pay monthly missions checks
  • Manage organized filing system of all church receipts and accounts
  • Match givers in Secure Give to CCB
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Assist in gathering documentation for annual financial review
  • Process and post staff salary and hourly payrolls
  • Employees who work 20+ hours per week are required to work any “all hands on deck” events including Easter, Sunday, Christmas Eve etc.

Qualifications

  • Born again and water baptized
  • Have a life that reflects the teachings of Jesus (Matthew 5-7) and produces the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5)
  • Devoted to the basic disciplines of the faith – Worship, Prayer, and Tithing
  • Attend worship services regularly 
  • Lead/Attend a small group or serve in a ministry regularly 
  • Experience in an administrative position
  • Finance/accounting education or five years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting 
  • Experience in using computer based technology and accounting programs
  • Experience as a ministry staff member and ministry leadership experience
  • Detailed knowledge, agreement, and adherence to Grace Church mission, vision and core values
  • Self – motivated and organized with the ability to build, engage and lead a team of staff and volunteers
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a spirit of discernment and discretion
  • A willingness to grow and adapt to inevitable changes found in a local growing church
