The Communications Coordinator is responsible for helping to fulfill the vision of the Lead Pastor in all aspects of the job. The Communications Coordinator strategically assists in overseeing the development, coordination, and execution of churchwide print, digital, website, advertising, and marketing communications that promote and represent Grace Church. This role serves as a central communications partner across departments and campuses, helping ensure that churchwide messaging is clear, timely, accurate, consistent, and aligned with Grace Church’s vision, mission, values, culture, and brand standards.


Churchwide Communications Strategy & Coordination

  • Strategically assist in overseeing churchwide communications and coordinate with departments, ministries, and campuses to ensure communication is clear, consistent, timely, and effective.
  • Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies that support the church’s vision, mission, values, ministry priorities, and organizational goals.
  • Serve as a primary communications liaison between departments, helping ministry leaders determine appropriate messaging, communication channels, timelines, and promotional needs.
  • Assist in coordinating churchwide communication campaigns, events, initiatives, and key messaging across multiple platforms and campuses.
  • Ensure communication priorities remain aligned with Grace Church standards, culture, brand, and strategic direction.
  • Develop long-term communication growth strategies that improve effectiveness, audience engagement, and organizational scalability.
  • Regularly assess communication systems, processes, workflows, and tools to identify opportunities for greater clarity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Copywriting & Content Development

  • Write, edit, and proofread copy for churchwide events, website content, print materials, email, digital resources, marketing materials, and other communication channels.
  • Translate ministry information, churchwide initiatives, events, and organizational priorities into clear, concise, compelling, and audience-focused communication.
  • Maintain consistency in voice, tone, terminology, messaging, grammar, and brand standards across all communication channels.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders and staff to refine communication while maintaining pastoral clarity, organizational alignment, and appropriate calls to action.
  • Develop and maintain reusable communication templates, messaging frameworks, and copy standards where appropriate.

Hosting Scripts & Platform Communication

  • Manage, update, and coordinate hosting scripts for weekend services and churchwide gatherings.
  • Collaborate with the Media Director and PMO office to ensure hosting content reflects current church priorities, events, ministry opportunities, and next steps.
  • Maintain an organized process for gathering, writing, reviewing, approving, and distributing hosting content.
  • Ensure platform communication is concise, pastoral, accurate, and aligned with the overall communication strategy of the church.

Website & Digital Communications

  • Manage and maintain the Grace Church website, ensuring content is current, accurate, accessible, engaging, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining website pages, landing pages, event listings, ministry information, calls to action, and other digital content.
  • Continually evaluate and improve website structure, user experience, content organization, and navigation to help people easily find information and take meaningful next steps.
  • Implement and maintain basic search engine optimization practices to improve website visibility and organic search performance.
  • Monitor website analytics and key performance indicators, providing reporting and recommendations for continued improvement.
  • Identify emerging digital communication opportunities and recommend tools, systems, or improvements that enhance the church’s digital presence.

Advertising & External Marketing

  • Collaborate with the Media Director and ministry leaders to ensure external advertising reflects current priorities and maintains Grace Church brand standards.
  • Assist in coordinating messaging, production timelines, placement schedules, and approvals for external marketing campaigns.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of external advertising and recommend improvements based on available performance data and ministry objectives.

Creative & Social Media Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Social Media Coordinator to ensure churchwide communication priorities are translated effectively across social platforms.
  • Work closely with the Social Media Coordinator and Media Director to maintain consistent messaging, tone, branding, and culture across communication channels.
  • Coordinate with the Media Director, Social Media Coordinator, designers, contractors, and other creative team members to obtain graphics, photography, video, and other assets necessary for communication initiatives.
  • Support churchwide communication campaigns by ensuring that digital, social, print, website, and external marketing efforts work together cohesively.


Print & Production Coordination

  • Assist in the development, production, ordering, and distribution of churchwide printed materials.
  • Coordinate print projects, including event materials, promotional collateral, signage, ministry resources, handouts, and other assigned communication pieces.
  • Work with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to maintain quality, accuracy, production timelines, and budget requirements.
  • Review final materials for accuracy, brand consistency, messaging alignment, and production readiness before release or printing.
  • Maintain organized processes for recurring print projects, production specifications, vendor information, and ordering.

Project Management

  • Collaborate with PMO and Media Director to accomplish communication projects in a timely and excellent manner.
  • Manage multiple communication projects simultaneously across ministries and campuses from initial request through completion.
  • Maintain organized workflows, project timelines, approvals, and communication with stakeholders throughout the life of each project.
  • Identify project risks, communication gaps, missing information, or potential delays and proactively develop solutions.

Communications Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist in using available analytics, engagement data, feedback, and performance indicators to inform communication decisions and future strategy.
  • Pursue ongoing assessment and improvement of church communication systems, processes, platforms, and workflows.
  • Stay current with communication, marketing, website, advertising, digital media, and church communications trends and best practices.
  • Recommend new tools, processes, or strategies that improve communication effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Develop documentation, templates, standards, and repeatable processes that allow communications to scale as Grace Church grows.
  • Help maintain organized digital assets, communication resources, archives, documentation, and departmental systems.
  • All Hands on Deck: Employees who work 20+ hours per week are required to work any “all hands on deck” events, including Easter, Sunday, Christmas Eve, etc.

Character

  • Born again and water-baptized
  • Have a life that reflects the teachings of Jesus (Matthew 5–7) and produces the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5)
  • Devoted to the basic disciplines of the faith: worship, prayer, and tithing
  • Attend worship services regularly
  • Lead/attend a small group or serve in a ministry regularly

Qualifications

  • Church membership required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional time management, organization, and attention to detail
  • Self – motivated and organized with the ability to manage multiple communications projects at once across multiple campuses 
  • Positive attitude and positive approach to problem solving (must be solution-oriented)   
  • Proven ability to see projects through from beginning to end
  • Committed to improvement and ongoing education to improve job skills   
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field of study preferred, or 4 years of experience working in a communications role
  • Proficiency in Apple, Microsoft Office, Project Management software, social network programs, and planning center
  • Experience as a ministry staff member and ministry leadership experience.
  • Detailed knowledge, agreement, and adherence to Grace Church’s mission, vision, and core values.
  • Have a spirit of discernment and discretion.
