The Audio Trainer is responsible for helping to fulfill the vision of the Lead Pastor in all aspects of the job. This position reports to the Production Director and will work closely with the Audio Specialist to create a systematic training system for the updated AVL system.  This position is temporary to assist with training volunteers on the new system. The estimated time frame to complete the project is 6 months. The Audio Trainer will play a critical role in fostering high-quality audio experiences across Grace Church campuses, creating an environment where our congregation can engage deeply with worship and teaching.  This position will be based in Southern Pines but will require occasional visits to other campus locations.  

Responsibilities

  • Training: Facilitate training for audio volunteers to ensure technical proficiency and alignment with church values, and partner with the Audio Specialist to establish training pipelines for the Audio Engineering volunteer role. 
  • Audio Equipment Optimization: Maintain and optimize audio equipment to ensure reliability and quality. 
  • Discipleship Culture: Foster a culture of discipleship among volunteers, encouraging spiritual growth and alignment with the church’s vision.

  • Born again and water-baptized
  • Have a life that reflects the teachings of Jesus (Matthew 5–7) and produces the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5)
  • Devoted to the basic disciplines of the faith: worship, prayer, and giving 

Qualifications

  • 3 years or more of experience in all aspects of audio mixing  
  • Have a detailed understanding of the audio equipment Grace Church utilizes
  • Ability to work in confined spaces or low positions, including extended periods on hands and knees
  • Requires frequent kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Can lift over 50lbs regularly
  • Can stand for long periods
  • Must be aware and agree with Grace Church mission, vision, and core values
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self–motivated and organized with the ability to build and engage volunteers
  • Have a spirit of discernment and discretion
