Night Safety is responsible for sharing the vision of the Lead Pastor in all aspects of the job. Night Safety is responsible for providing safety and facility support. This position will work Thursday evenings from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm and occasionally fill in for our other shifts and special events as needed.
Responsibilites
- Support the Lead Pastor with his overall vision & values of Grace Church.
- Review Church/Groups Calendar for Room Assignments for the current night and the following day. If rooms are requested for the following day and not in use that night, proceed with setting up per Room Assignment.
- Check in with Group Leaders and/or church staff to identify any potential needs.
- Clean White Boards in rooms as needed.
- Restock restrooms of items such as toilet paper, paper towels if a need arises..
- Take trash to the dumpster as needed (indoor and outdoor trash containers).
- Periodically patrol the outside area and parking lot area to ensure all is secure throughout work hours while Groups/ministries are meeting.
- Patrol throughout the building for any repairs or upkeep needing to be done.
- Lock Building up per “Lock Up Checklist”. Ensure all criteria on the list has been completed.
- Clean fluorescent light fixtures per quarterly schedule (this mainly involves getting debris/bugs from fixtures.)
- Arm the alarm system upon exiting the building for the night.
Qualifications
- Born again and water baptized.
- Have a life that reflects the teachings of Jesus (Matthew 5-7) and produces the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5)
- Devoted to the basic disciplines of the faith – Worship, Prayer, and Tithing
- Attend worship services regularly
- Lead/attend a small group or serve in a ministry regularly
- Preferred background in security and knowledge of first aid
- De-escalation skills and confrontation tactics.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
- Detailed knowledge, agreement, and adherence to Grace Church vision, mission and core values.
- Self motivated and organized with the ability to build, engage, and lead a team of staff and volunteers.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Have a spirit of discernment and discretion.
