Pastor Dan
Groups Pastor
We examine stories within passion week to see who Jesus is and how He asks us to respond to Him
Listen + Watch the Message
(new sermons published every Monday)
This week as we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, we’ll pull from three stories within the last week of Jesus’ ministry prior to the crucifixion: The Donkey, The Journey, and The Decision. From these stories we get an amazing perspective on the person of Jesus and how people respond to Him.
Scripture References from the Sermon
Matthew 21:1-11 | Matthew 27:15-22 | Luke 9:23-24 | Psalm 24:1-10 | Zechariah 9:9b-12 | Matthew 26:26-29
Discussion Questions
- Easter weekend is next week! Talk as a group about how you typically celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
- Pastor Dan talked about the owner of the donkey and its colt, and his willingness to surrender it because Jesus needed it. Discuss some things that you have surrendered to God in the past and what you learned, or what benefits you saw from it.
- During the discussion on the journey up the hill into Jerusalem, we tied this event together with some writings from the Old Testament. Read Zechariah 9:9-12. What are your takeaways from this passage about who Jesus is and what He accomplishes?
- Read Matthew 21:1-11 & 27:15-22. Who do you identify with the most in each of these passages? Why?
- We partook in the Lord’s Supper. What does the Lord’s Supper mean to you and why is it important that we regularly practice it?
