gKids Central Assistant and Thursday Service Coordinator

The gKids Central Assistant and Thursday Service Coordinator will work closely with the gKids Director to plan, prepare, and execute gKids’ child and parent ministries as part of the central ministry team. In addition to the central support role, the position is also responsible for coordinating Thursday Night gKids Worship Experiences. This role will be key in creating and maintaining a ministry environment that points children and families to Jesus and encourages and equips volunteers.

Responsilbilites

  • Engage in appropriate and professional communications among leaders, ministry partners, and families
  • Assist in obtaining, organizing, and prepping resources and materials for gKids ministries on all campuses and for all services
  • Maintain Thursday Night Volunteer schedules and facilitate a ministry of excellence for Thursday Night Services
  • Actively engage with volunteers during Thursday Worship Experiences through Volunteer Huddle and Prayer Time, weekly recruitment and training, schedule management, set up/tear down, and hands-on classroom support where needed
  • Actively engage with parents during Thursday Worship Experiences through welcoming new families, fielding questions, and offering discipleship and support
  • Work with the gKids team in ensuring volunteers and families are discipled and valued 
  • Cooperate with and assist the gKids Ministry staff in fulfilling day-to-day tasks as well as special events
  • Provide administrative support to the gKids Ministry Team
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures within the gKids Ministry
  • Input notes and volunteer information in GraceLink
  • Participate in weekly and monthly team meetings
  • Occasional assistance fulfilling staff roles during Sunday Worship Experiences
  • Stay fluid with job responsibilities as the needs of the ministry and church change and grow 
  • 20+ hour/week employees are required to work any “all hands on deck” events, including but not limited to Easter, Christmas Eve, and VBS

Qualifications

  • Born again and water-baptized
  • Have a life that reflects the teachings of Jesus (Matthew 5–7) and produces the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5)
  • Devoted to the basic disciplines of the faith: worship, prayer, and tithing
  • Attend worship services regularly
  • Lead/attend a small group or serve in a ministry regularly  knowledge, agreement, and adherence to Grace Church mission, vision, and core values
  • Must have a love for children and families
  • An appropriate educational background and/or children’s ministry experience preferred
  • Self–motivated and organized with the ability to build and engage volunteers
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize ministry needs with or without supervision
  • Commitment to good interpersonal relationships, teamwork, and support of church staff and ministries
  • Have a creative and teachable spirit
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a spirit of discernment and discretion
  • Willingness to grow and adapt to inevitable changes found in a local growing church
  • Church membership required
