gKids Early Learning Coordinator

The gKids Early Learning Coordinator is responsible for helping to fulfill the vision of the Lead Pastor in all aspects of the job. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting the gKids Director in creating a family environment that helps children and families live lives fully devoted to Jesus Christ. This Central position will provide support and organizational assistance to help keep the flow of the ministry smooth and orderly with a primary focus on the birth – 5 year old range at all campuses. 

Responsilbites

  • Engage in appropriate and professional communications among leaders, ministry partners, and families
  • Schedule volunteers to serve in the Early Learning area and invest in and train volunteers for effective and fruitful ministry 
  • Maintain up-to-date volunteer information using the church database and gKids’ specific volunteer management processes
  • Edit, print, and prep weekly Early Learning curriculum for all campuses
  • Assist in obtaining, organizing, and prepping resources and materials for gKids Early Learning ministries on all campuses and for all services
  • Actively engage with Early Learning volunteers during Sunday Worship Experiences through Volunteer Huddle and Prayer Time, weekly recruitment and training, schedule management, set up/tear down, and hands-on classroom support where needed
  • Actively engage with Early Learning parents during Worship Experiences through welcoming new families, fielding questions, and offering discipleship and support
  • Cooperate with and assist the gKids Ministry staff in fulfilling day-to-day tasks as well as special events
  • Provide administrative support to the gKids Ministry Team
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures within the gKids Ministry
  • Participate in volunteer trainings, weekly team meetings, and monthly meetings
  • Provide support for Vacation Bible School, Family Night events, and other Children’s Ministry Events (curriculum organization, registration, mailings, etc.)
  • Help ensure volunteers are discipled and valued 
  • Supervise gKids’ Early Learning area during services
  • Provide on-site support for some Thursday night services
  • Cooperate with and assist the Children’s Ministry staff in fulfilling day-to-day tasks
  • Stay fluid with job responsibilities as the needs of the ministry and church change and grow
  • Develop and maintain assigned budgets.  Manage and steward the budget effectively and adhere to spending policies.  
  • Employees who work 20+ hours per week are required to work any “all hands on deck” events, including Easter, Sunday, Christmas Eve, etc.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and staying current on industry changes and trends
  • Stay up to date with all applicable process queues, forms, and data input into Gracelink
  • Prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending
  • Must be able to transition to and from the floor easily 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

Requirments

  • Born again and water baptized.
  • Have a life that reflects the teachings of Jesus (Matthew 5-7) and produces the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5)
  • Devoted to the basic disciplines of the faith – Worship, Prayer, and Tithing
  • Attend worship services regularly 
  • Lead/Attend a small group or serve in a ministry regularly 
  • Qualifications
  • Detailed knowledge, agreement, and adherence to Grace Church mission, vision, and core values
  • Have a passion and enthusiasm for children and families, and an ability to relate to them with love and understanding
  • An appropriate educational background and/or children’s ministry experience preferred
  • Self–motivated and organized with the ability to build, engage, and lead a team of staff and volunteers
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize ministry needs with or without supervision
  • Commitment to good interpersonal relationships, teamwork, and support of church staff and ministries
  • Have a creative and teachable spirit
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a spirit of discernment and discretion
  • A willingness to grow and adapt to inevitable changes found in a local growing church
