Like Gideon, Grace is in a Holy Transition to take up our divine commission for deeper intimacy with God to birth what He has given us to carry.

Sermon Summary
We’re kicking off the new year with our vision and mission series from January through February. As we take the time to know and clarify where we are, where we’re going, and how we plan on arriving there, it will take all of our family to accomplish the audacious promises God has given us. We are in preparation for war, a time where God is calling us to know that the weapons of our warfare are not flesh and carnal but powerful promises and Truths that break down strongholds of the enemy. We are living in a time when it is easy to see a drift toward a complacent and apathetic lifestyle. But God is calling those willing to take up their commission to go deeper in their relationship with God, becoming intimate and birthing something we have been carrying. As we read through the story of Gideon and his army, there is a strong correlation to us at Grace in this season of Holy Transition God has us in.

Discussion Questions
- Knowing what is to come on the calendar over the next two months, what action or mindset is God giving you?
- There are 3 aspects of this HOLY TRANSITION we are going through. Discuss these in your group. Crowd to commissioned. Pregnant to birthing. Acquaintances to intimates.
- As the scene is set in Judges 6 with the Midianites raiding Israel, how have you seen society robbing you of your time, focus, or attention?
- Why did God remind Israel of what He did? Why is it important to remind your soul who He is? How do you remind yourself of God’s faithfulness? (Judges 6:8-9)
- Do you know your true identity? How is your identity tied to God’s character? How could you go about finding how God sees you? (Judges 6:11-12)
“Nearly the whole of sacred doctrine consists in these two parts: knowledge of God and of ourselves.” -John Calvin
