The gKids Central Assistant will work closely with the gKids Director and the gKids Ministry Team to plan, prepare, and execute gKids’ child and parent ministries. The role will be key in creating and maintaining a ministry environment that points children and families to Jesus and encourages and equips volunteers.
Responsibilites
- Engage in appropriate and professional communications among leaders, ministry partners, and families
- Assist in obtaining, organizing, and prepping resources and materials for gKids ministries on all campuses and for all services
- Cooperate with and assist the gKids Ministry staff in fulfilling day-to-day tasks as well as special events
- Provide administrative support to the gKids Ministry Team
- Assist in developing policies and procedures within the gKids Ministry
- Input notes and volunteer information in GraceLink
- Participate in weekly and monthly team meetings
- Help ensure volunteers and families are discipled and valued
- Occasional assistance fulfilling staff roles during Thursday night services
- Stay fluid with job responsibilities as needs of the ministry and church change and grow
- 20+ hour/week employees are required to work any “all hands on deck” events, including but not limited to Easter, Christmas Eve, and VBS
- Prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending
- Must be able to transition to and front he floor easily
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
Qualifications
- Born again and water-baptized
- Have a life that reflects the teachings of Jesus (Matthew 5–7) and produces the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5)
- Devoted to the basic disciplines of the faith: worship, prayer, and tithing
- Attend worship services regularly
- Lead/attend a small group or serve in a ministry regularly
- An appropriate educational background
- Church membership required
- Experience as a ministry staff member or ministry leadership experience preferred
- Detailed knowledge, agreement, and adherence to Grace Church mission, vision, and core values
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self–motivated and organized with the ability to build and engage volunteers
- Have a spirit of discernment and discretion
