The Sunday Assistant’s role is to help create a warm, welcoming environment for first-time guests and Grace Church families. As part of this fast-paced team, the assistant will help develop and maintain a fun, quality environment that fosters love for volunteers and points children to Jesus.
Responsibilities
- Engage in appropriate and professional communications among leaders, ministry partners, and families
- Set up the Relations area prior to the 1st service to include manned and self check in stations, 1st time guest supplies and weekly count sheets
- Assist in setting up the Early Learning environment prior to 1st service
- Participate in weekly volunteer recruitment
- Manage Relations Desk Volunteer schedule and provide hands on training to those serving in that role. Scheduling work will require an hour during the week. The times for this work will be determined.
- Ensure a quality first time guest experience
- Disciple and appreciate volunteers
- Invest in families and children in the ministry
- Assist gKids DIrector as well as Elementary and Early Learning Staff with needs as they arise
- Prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending
- Must be able to transition to and from the floor easily
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
Qualifications
- Born again and water-baptized
- Have a life that reflects the teachings of Jesus (Matthew 5–7) and produces the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5)
- Devoted to the basic disciplines of the faith: worship, prayer, and tithing
- Attend worship services regularly
- Lead/attend a small group or serve in a ministry regularly
- An appropriate educational background
- Church membership required
- Experience as a ministry staff member or ministry leadership experience preferred
- Detailed knowledge, agreement, and adherence to Grace Church mission, vision, and core values
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self–motivated and organized with the ability to build and engage volunteers
- Have a spirit of discernment and discretion
