This fall, we are going all in on sermon-based groups to help us grow together as a church body. Sermon-based groups will gather each week to dive deeper into the message using the Sermon Discussion Guide. This format enables everyone to discuss and apply what they are learning and hearing from God each week while staying in sync with the heart of the church.
Groups Leader Training will cover the vision and heart for Groups at Grace Church and equip you with practical tools for discipling others in a small group context.
Whether you’ve been leading a group for years or would like to lead a group for the first time, this training will provide valuable insights that will help you grow in your disciple-making journey.
The training consists of two sessions:
Session 1: Vision for Discipleship through Groups
Session 2: Tools and Expectations for Leading a Group
Childcare is provided.
What are sermon-based groups?
Sermon-based groups meet each week to discuss practical application from the message and to share what God is speaking. A Sermon Discussion Guide is available in the lobby of every Grace Church campus as well as online. The discussion guide includes a summary of the message, a list of Scripture verses referenced in the sermon, and discussion questions.
Why is Grace Church moving to sermon-based groups?
As we grow to reach ten cities for God’s glory, we want to encourage unity across our campuses, and sermon-based groups are an incredible way to grow together as a church family.
Do I need to attend training to lead a group?
Yes, if you would like to lead a a group through Grace Church, this training is required.
I lead a group, but it’s not sermon-based. Do I need to attend?
We want all group leaders to attend this training. We are encouraging all current groups to make the switch to being sermon-based ahead of the Groups Fair in the fall. Regardless of what type of group you lead, this training will equip you to lead effectively.
