About Grace Church

It is so exciting to see all that God has done through Grace Church. We believe there is a specific reason why God has and will continue to bless us. That reason is our commitment to change the world for Jesus Christ through winning the lost, making disciples, and going to the nations. As we gear up to celebrate our first 20 years of ministry, we do so with a great sense of joy and fulfillment. Yet, we know this is only the beginning and that the next 20 years will be even better! We would love to have you be a part of our world-changing family.

History

In 1988, Randy Thornton and his wife Sarah came to Southern Pines to pursue a vision that God had placed in their hearts – by planting a local church that would impact Moore County for Christ. With only one other family and using a small home for a meeting space, Grace Church officially began. Over the next several years, the church began to grow steadily, eventually moving to a conference room at the Days Inn. From there, Grace Church moved to the Town and Country Shopping Center in Aberdeen.

In 1997, continued growth led Grace Church to our current facility, which used to be a Conference Center and Saloon. We are now in the process of adding 22,000 square feet onto our existing building, which will give us over 35,000 square feet of ministry space on 10 acres of property. Even with this addition, we know that we will have to continue to build and expand to make room for the harvest that God is bringing to us.
