Why does anyone need a Church family?

There are many analogies that describe the relationship that exist between Christ and His followers, such as "a family" and  "a body". Both suggest that Christ's followers are connected.

God never intended to have "lone ranger" Christians, and those who want to join the church seem to understand the paradigm shift of "What's in it for me?" to "What can I give?"

Benefits of Church Membership

  • Identifies you as a genuine believer
  • Moves you out of self-centered isolation
    • "If one part of the body suffers, all the other parts suffer with it. Or if one part of our body is honored, all the other parts share its' honor." I Corinthians 12:26
  • Helps you develop spiritual maturity. Isolation breeds deceitfulness. Real Christian maturity shows up in relationships.
  • Discover and use your God-given gifts.
  • Because of what membership represents, members are the most qualified people to be in a leadership position.
  • Membership indicates your willingness to support the ministry of this church, with your time, talents, and treasure, and to be held accountable to the values of Grace Church.

We are all capable of any sin – and we need each other for accountability. The difference between being a church attendee and a church member is commitment.
